Xilinx, the leading supplier of programmable logic solutions, has expanded its development facility in Hyderabad, India, from 33,000 square foot facility set up in 2006 to 57,000 square foot to support the Company’s ambitious growth plans in India.
Moshe Gavrielov, the Company President and CEO, who inaugurated the extended premises at CyberPearl complex, told
EDN Asia that in terms of developing state-of-the-art technologies, the R&D center in Hyderabad was at par with the R&D center in the U.S.
Vamsi Boppana, Senior Director & CTO, Xilinx India, revealed that in pursuance of the Company’s huge expansion plans in India, the number of employees was being raised from 135 in March 2009 end to 260 in March 2010 end, with the expanded facility having the capacity to hold 456 employees.
Xilinx carries out a wide range of activities in India, such as IC and IP design, and software system and application development. Krishna Rangasayee, Vice President, Corporate Strategic Planning, said that Xilinx had 15 alliances with local companies and had also tied up with universities.
