Shanghai Digivision Ltd, one of the leading companies in the Chinese digital television (DTV) industry, has selected Microtune Inc.'s MT2066 single-chip broadband tuner for use in its advanced high-definition cable set-top boxes for the Chinese market.
Based on Microtune's MicroTuner platform, the MT2066 chip delivers exceptionally high performance while being priced competitively for high-volume set-top box production. In the Digivision design, the low-power (3.3V) MT2066 broadband tuner is being used in a high definition dual-tuner architecture that benefits from the MT2066 tuner's miniature 36mm² size.
Supporting the DVB-C standard, the MT2066 enables a rapid universal design for set-top boxes in the challenging Chinese cable TV environment. The MT2066 enables cable manufacturers to integrate the most advanced radio frequency (RF) IC components into their designs, enabling a reliable multimedia television experience, all while meeting the demands for smaller and more cost-effective electronics.
