Hong Kong-based Advanced Card Systems (ACS) enjoys worldwide recognition as one of the leaders in smart card readers and related products. In that innovation spirit, ACS has now introduced a new generation of smart card readers with integrated biometric electronics. The company's latest offering comprises the ACR80 smart card terminal (multiple card slots and inbuilt cryptographic functionality), the AET60 BioCARDKey, and the AET63 BioTRUSTKey. Both AET60 and AET63 devices feature a smart card reader with integrated fingerprint sensor. Also, the template extraction and matching algorithms run within the reader.

ACS is offering the AET60 and AET63 in SDK (software development kit) format. These kits contain all the necessary components required for smart card/fingerprint application development. The SDK package contains: a choice of either AET60 BioCARDKEY or AET63 BioTRUSTKey smart card reader with integrated fingerprint sensor; a 10 ACOS1 8-Kbyte microprocessor-based card; and a CD-ROM containing installation instructions, drivers, source code, and demo software.

These SDKs provide you with a quick and convenient way to incorporate fingerprint and smart card authentication within an application. Through a simple API, you can easily integrate fingerprint authentication features into your application. Further, the necessary interface can be developed quickly without any in-depth knowledge of biometrics.
