Texas Instruments (TI) and Ittiam Systems announced Ittiam's IP video phone solution built on TI's DaVinci technology-based TMS320DM6446 processor. The platform lets OEM and ODM customers quickly develop and bring to market a variety of end solutions.
It is said that DaVinci technology is designed to enable in multi-media systems across a variety of end user applications. It is optimized for digital video systems and includes digital signal processor (DSP) based SoCs, accelerators, frameworks and development tools.
Leveraging the performance of DaVinci technology, Ittiam's offering, the IPVP6446, provides the latest in video compression technology and delivers video over IP communication with multi-way call capability for standalone applications. Additionally the solution can be integrated into other embedded applications such as IP set top boxes, transforming a typical streaming media device into a communication hub.
