MiCOM Helps Extreme to Address Japanese Wireless LAN Market

(Technology News, 24 Apr 2006 )

MiCOM Labs Inc., wireless and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) compliance testing laboratory headquartered in Pleasanton; Calif., has completed product testing and secured certification of compliance with Japanese wireless standards for Extreme Networks' Altitude 350-2 network access point product for wireless local area networks (WLANs). This achievement adds Japan to the list of countries, including the United States, Canada and Europe, where the Altitude 350-2 product is available and certified for use.

Gordon Hurst, CEO, MiCOM Labs, said, "Extreme Networks began working with MiCOM Labs in a consulting role. Because our lab is approved to perform testing for Japan in our California facilities, however, we were able to save Extreme Networks the time and expense of sending engineers to Japan."

Mark Darula, compliance manager for Extreme Networks, stated, "The dedicated effort put forth by MiCOM Labs in testing Extreme Networks' wireless products has been highly impressive. They completed testing and certification in only 30 days-saving us valuable time and resources. MiCOM Labs' staff applied proactive efforts and expertise that helps position Extreme Networks for business within this key market."
