6WIND, in embedded networking software, announced its selection by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd to provide a 6WINDGate software license with mobile IP features for the latter's research and development on a new generation of mobile broadband applications. 6WINDGate software is to enable end-users to stay connected on the Internet with their mobile devices as they move from one type of wireless infrastructure to the next, between WiFi and WiMAX.
Changsup Shim, senior vice president & general manager of systems R&D team at Samsung, said, "With 6WIND's software technology which incorporates advanced mobile IP features, Samsung will be able to speed up its research and development capacities for ubiquitous and converging mobile solutions."
