Xilinx Inc, supplier of programmable chips and one of the largest fabless semiconductor companies, said that it will be announcing a major multi-million dollar technology fund targeting the Asia-Pacific region at Global Entrepolis Singapore (GES) this year on 1st November 2006. It is claimed that this will be the largest corporate venture capital fund to be announced at GES to date.
This announcement strengthens the company's commitment to grow the programmable system design market in Asia and affirms its pioneering spirit to lead in technological innovations within the semiconductor industry. Through this initiative Xilinx aims to meet companies with leading-edge technologies, products and services who are developing new, innovative applications based on programmable chips and/or who can enhance its continuously expanding ecosystem.
The fund's launch will be graced by Guest-of-Honour, EDB's assistant managing director Chua Taik Him, as well as Hans Schwarz, senior director of business development, Xilinx Inc and Stacy Fender, managing director, Xilinx Asia Pacific.
