4 to 60V step-down controller draws 40uA

( 01 Nov 2006 )

Linear Technology Corporation’s LTC3824 is a 4 to 60V input range, 100% duty cycle, low IQ, adjustable switching frequency dc/dc current mode controller. It is ideal for automotive applications where the 4V minimum input voltage supports cold cranking, and the 60V maximum input voltage survives inductive load dumps, without the need for external clamping circuits.

The LTC3824 can be configured for burst mode operation, which significantly improves light load efficiency especially during system standby, where the quiescent current is reduced to 40uA. Typical shutdown current is 25uA. Offered in a 10-pin thermally enhanced MSOP package. Linear Technology Corporation, www.linear.com
