Transceivers operate up to 20MBps/250kbps for low EMI

( 01 Dec 2006 )

2 to 18GHz down converter for EW and ECM applications Linear Technology Corporation has launched the LTC2856/ LTC2857/ LTC2858 low power RS485/422 transceivers. Operating on 5V supplies, the LTC2856-1, LTC2857-1 and LTC2858-1 operate at maximum data rates of 20MBps, while the LTC2856-2, LTC2857-2 and LTC2858-2 feature 250kbps slew rate limited driver outputs to control high frequency emission from equipment and data cables. Enhanced ESD protection on the transceiver interface pins allows the ICs to withstand ±15kV for ESD strikes (human body model) without latchup or damage. The receiver fail-safe feature enhances the devices’ operation by guaranteeing a high output state under conditions of floating or shorted inputs. The ICs are offered in 8- and 10-pin MSOP, and 3x3mm DFN packages. Linear Technology Corporation, www.linear.com
