Intermec Inc., in RFID technology, has selected Singapore as the new home for its global bar code printer research and development (R&D) centre. All printer R&D and design will be headquartered at the center. Marie Norrbrink, director of printer development for Intermec, has been named to lead the 20-member global printer development team.
Henri Juvanon, managing director, Asia Pacific, Intermec, said, "At Intermec, we intend to focus our core competency of printer R&D and design here. Singapore has a strong reputation in science and technology, good infrastructure, a pool of reliable engineers with excellent training, high standards of tertiary education and many graduates who have experience working abroad. Singapore is the base from which we will drive new product adoption across the region."
