Loadstar Introduces iPedal Sensor

(Product News, 31 Oct 2008 )

Loadstar Sensors announced the availability of its iPedal brake testing solution, which stands alone as the only true USB solution of its kind in the marketplace. The brake testing solution includes a sensor and an interface with optional application software.

The iPedal sensors offer unprecedented ease of use with Digital USB or Analog 0-5V DC output. The iPedal sensors are designed to measure brake force at accuracies up to 1%, minimize error due to off-axis loads and improve brake testing efficiency. The iPedal sensors incorporate Loadstar's breakthrough Plug and Sense simplicity by integrating signal conditioning and communications into the sensor itself. The iPedal Digital sensor is offered with Loadstar's DS-3000U Display & Controller to provide real time readings and the ability to connect to a PC via USB uplink. The iPedal Digital and the DS-3000U work seamlessly with Loadstar's LoadVUE software which lets users log data and export to an excel file for plotting and further analysis.

For users who require analog output, Loadstar offers the iPedal Analog which outputs a linear, 0.5-4.5V DC signal proportional to the applied load. Additionally, the iPedal Analog is offered with Loadstar's BG-300 Bargraph Display Module which provides a clear and simple way to monitor brake force without the need for external data acquisition and/or a PC.

The iPedal solutions provide many key features in order to simplify the process of building a brake testing measurement system:

The new iPedal features a practical design that makes it easy to mount to a brake pedal. Rugged cable strain relief assures that the sensor can handle harsh environments and extensive repeated use.
