Vishays new power SMD LEDs in thermally enhanced PLCC-4 package feature thermal resistance down to 290 K/W 2/7/2008

Vishay Intertechnology has announced the release of a new series of power surface-mount LEDs that deliver a significant advance in heat dissipation and brightness. The new VLMx32.. devices feature a PLCC 4 package with a lead frame optimized to provide very low thermal resistance down to 290 K/W and power dissipation up to 200 mW, which in turn enables high drive currents up to 70 mA for twice the brightness of Vishays high-intensity SMD LEDs in the PLCC 2 package.
