Analog Devices is now certified to ISO/SAE 21434:2021, the new automotive cybersecurity standard for production road vehicle electrical and electronic (E/E) systems.

Analog Devices Inc.’s engineering processes are now certified as compliant with ISO/SAE 21434:2021, the new automotive cybersecurity standard for production road vehicle electrical and electronic (E/E) systems. This standard focuses on the end-to-end lifecycle for cybersecurity relevant E/E solutions from component to vehicle level. As the electronic content grows to support vehicle electrification, connectivity, and autonomy trends, the risk of a cybersecurity attack increases and threatens the functional safety of the vehicle and wellbeing of passengers.

“ADI recognizes that cybersecurity is more than a feature set, and must include a holistic process and mindset applied at the start of concept development and maintained throughout deployment until the system is decommissioned,” said Nicole Leontsinis, Director Applied Product Security Engineering at Analog Devices. “This certification is recognition of ADI’s robust policies and processes for secure product development resulting in the protection of critical features and back-end networks from cyberattacks.”

Achieving process certification for this standard in cooperation with TÜV NORD Mobilität GmbH & Co. KG creates the foundation for validating that ADI’s solutions and those of its suppliers are secure. This allows customers to reduce time to market by simplifying their security solution through the adoption of an ISO/SAE 21434:2021 certified component, thereby accelerating their compliance to the standard.

“ADI is proud to achieve ISO/SAE 21434:2021 certification as it shows our commitment to providing secure solutions to automotive customers,” said Gina Aquilano, Director of Automotive Technology at Analog Devices. This standard is being applied to ADI’s automotive development processes around the globe and Wireless Battery Management System (wBMS) for electric vehicles.”
