Automate volume, surface resistivity measurement

KickStart FL-HRMA enables engineers to determine the resistivity of materials using standards-compliant set-ups and methods.

Tektronix has introduced the Keithley KickStart instrument control software, which the company says has an option that automates volume and surface resistivity measurements for more accurate and repeatable results without custom programming.

The KickStart FL-HRMA application works with the Model 6517B electrometer and Model 8009 resistivity test fixture to perform high-resistivity measurements in compliance with ASTM D257 and IEC 60093 standards, executing all required computations based on the geometry of the Keithley test fixture.

KickStart FL-HRMA enables engineers to determine the resistivity of materials using standards-compliant set-ups and methods. Users can visualise the step response of the material and decide on an appropriate test time for volume or surface resistivity testing. For improved accuracy, the software employs Keithley’s alternating-polarity measurement technique to eliminate inherent background currents. Optional probes allow the observation of resistivity changes due to environmental factors, such as temperature and humidity.

The base version of KickStart instrument control software is free for downloading from the Tektronix website. The KickStart FL-HRMA application costs $499.
