The Vishay 440L series capacitors promise to save board space in antenna coupling, line bypass, and RFI filtering applications for power and smart metres, lighting ballasts and consumer products.
Vishay Intertechnology has revealed that it has extended the capacitance range of its 440L series of AC-line-rated ceramic disc capacitors. The Vishay Cera-Mite devices are geared to deliver to high reliability for Class X1 (760 VAC) and Class Y1 (500 VAC) applications in accordance to IEC 60384-14, 4th edition and are the industry's first to offer capacitance up to 20nF, stated the company.
With their high capacitance range, 440L series capacitors save board space in antenna coupling, line bypass, across-the-line, and RFI filtering applications for power and smart metres, lighting ballasts and consumer products. Featuring C0G, U2J, P3K, R3L, X7R and Y5U ceramic dielectrics, the devices feature tolerances down to ±10% and operate over a temperature range of -30°C to 125°C.
The 20nF capacitors consist of two silver-plated ceramic discs with tinned copper connection leads offering 0.81mm diameters. 440L series devices are available with radial kinked or straight leads with spacing of 9.5mm. RoHS-compliant, the capacitors' encapsulation is made of flame-resistant epoxy resin in accordance with UL 94 V-0.
Samples of the extended 440L series are available. Production quantities will be available in 2Q16, with lead times of eight weeks for larger orders.
