CUI has added 94% efficient VMS-300A series of power supplies that meet EN 60601-1 edition 3.1 safety standards and the 4th edition EMC requirements to target medical applications.
CUI’s Power Group has added 300W series to its line of internal AC-DC power supplies. The company said the products meet EN 60601-1 edition 3.1 safety standards and the 4th edition EMC requirements, making them suitable for medical applications. The company said the single-output power supplies are designed for the energy-conscious 2 x MOPP (Means of Patient Protection) hospital, home healthcare and dental applications.
The VMS-300A series delivers efficiencies up to 94% and power densities up to 14.5W/in³. It features a universal input voltage range of 90Vac to 264Vac with output voltage options of 12, 24, 36, and 48Vdc. All models also offer 4kVac input-to-output isolation and 1.5kVac output-to-ground isolation. Other features include power factor correction, remote voltage sense, a 5V standby, remote on/off control as well as over-voltage, over-current, over-temperature and short-circuit protections.
The open frame VMS-300A, which measures 76.2mm x 127mm x 35.1mm, and the metal enclosed VMS-300A-CNF series, which measures 88mm x 136mm x 40.4mm, carry UL/cUL and TUV 60601-1 safety marks, while meeting EN 55022 Class B and FCC Class B limits for radiated emissions.
The open frame version of the VMS-300A series provides an operating temperature range at full load from -40°C to 50°C with forced air cooling, derating to 60% load at 70°C. The metal enclosed package offers an operating temperature range at full load from -40°C to 60°C with forced air cooling, derating to 60% load at 80°C.
The VMS-300A and VMS-300A-CNF series are available for prices starting at $117.34 per unit in 25-piece orders.
