With the acquisition of Dialog Semiconductor, Renesas now offers 39 device combinations for IoT, industrial, and automotive applications. The complementary and combined portfolios of Renesas and Dialog comprise embedded processing, analog, power, and connectivity devices in what Renesas calls Winning Combinations.
These product combos are engineering-vetted designs that aim to accelerate product development and lower the overall risk in bringing designs to market. They include the Quick Connect IoT prototyping platform, a 100-W adapter with power delivery (PD) and wireless charging, and a smart asset-tracking label, to name a few.
Quick Connect IoT is a multi-board setup that enables fast prototyping by providing compatible hardware and software building blocks. It includes Dialog’s Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi SoCs and enables Renesas sensors and MCUs to seamlessly transmit to a mobile application or the cloud. Leveraging Dialog’s AC/DC chipset and Renesas’ USB PD controller, MOSFETs, PFC, and wireless charging devices, the PD delivery adapter provides BC1.2 fast charging and Qi 15-W wireless charging.
The smart tracking label is an ultra-thin, credit-card–sized asset-tracking device that monitors and tracks environmental data. It teams a Dialog BLE SoC with Renesas humidity and temperature sensors. Automotive solutions based on Renesas and Dialog devices address high-end cockpit and in-vehicle infotainment, wireless battery management, intelligent cameras, full graphics displays with haptics, and automated driving.
All of the combinations include block diagrams, product information, and the ability to sample and buy. To learn more about the Renesas+Dialog combinations, as well as 200+ existing combos resulting from the acquisitions of Intersil and IDT, click here.
