What comes to mind when you think of smart cities? A city where you have the convenience of connected utility meters (electricity, water, and gas), which don’t require someone to read them in person every month; connected transportation; a well-laidout sensor network in public areas for detecting crowds; continuous monitoring using CCTV cameras; a parking sensor network that guides you to the nearest parking spot from your mobile; etc. The possibilities are almost endless, and with the advent of LPWAN technologies, many of these applications are more than ever within reach.
