The charging pad is impressively petite; 69 mm (2.7 in) in diameter and only 3.49 mm (0.14 in) thick. The grey regions are adhesive-attached cushioning for the phone.

The bottom also has adhesive-attached cushioning for the countertop or other surface. Note that the charger accepts both 5V (@1A) and 9V (@1.67A) inputs, and delivers both 5W (@50% efficiency) and 9W (@60% efficiency) outputs.

The opening where the power cable entered the charging pad is 'just' big enough to jam a small flat-head screwdriver in it and wrench the two sides slightly ajar. The tedious, circuitous subsequent application of a second flat-head screwdriver around the edge got it the rest of the way apart (there's a lot of tenacious adhesive both around the edge and throughout the inside).

Here's the wireless power transmitter coil, but where's the rest of the circuitry? Promotional quotes from the product page on Amazon's website mention PCBA-coil Separation technology that connects the Printed Circuit Board Assembly to the USB via a 3.3ft cable.

Getting inside the augmented USB connector wasn't easy, in spite of my enthusiastic application of both the output of a heat gun and a variety of box cutters and other sharp-edged devices, but a Dremel tip ended up doing the trick. At this point, unfortunately, I was stuck. I couldn't figure any way to delve further inside the assemblage without completely destroying everything inside in the process.
