Designed for wearables and mobile devices, the MMC3630KJ from MEMSIC integrates a monolithic 3-axis AMR sensor and signal conditioning ASIC that deliver magnetic sensitivity in the range of ±30 gauss.
MEMS sensing solution provider, Memsic Inc., has introduced the MMC3630KJ magnetometer aimed at wearable and mobile device markets worldwide. Combining a monolithic 3-axis AMR (anisotropic magnetoresistive) sensor and a signal conditioning ASIC, the device delivers a magnetic sensitivity in a range of ±30 gauss and achieve a noise level that is five times better than other technologies.
The MMC3630KJ comes in a miniature 1.2mm × 1.2mm × 0.5mm BGA package. It has a magnetic sensing bandwidth of 600Hz and provides accuracy of greater than ±1° in eCompass applications. MEMSIC also reports that the design of the MMC3630KJ magnetometer can drastically lower system-level power consumption and processing time. Device features include self-degaussing and a power-saving interrupt function.
