The SFG-205 and SFA-210 provide a sample rate of 125Msamples/s and promise to deliver an easy-to-read 3.5in colour TFT LCD, as well as front-panel controls for configuring waveforms.

Global Specialties has brought to market its single-channel function/arbitrary waveform generators that can generate 5MHz or 10MHz sine wave, respectively. The SFG-205 and SFA-210 promise to deliver an easy-to-read 3.5in colour TFT LCD, as well as front-panel controls and numeric keypad for configuring waveforms.

Non-volatile memory allows the creation, storage and recall of arbitrary waveforms with up to 16,000 points and 14bit vertical resolution. Forty-six predefined arbitrary waveforms are also available for output. Modulations include AM, DSB-AM, FM, PM, FSK, ASK, PWM, sweep and burst. The generators provide a sample rate of 125Msamples/s, a frequency resolution of 1µHz, a temperature coefficient of <5ppm/°C, and accuracy of ±50 ppm within 90 days and ±100ppm/°C within one year.

A front-panel USB device port and rear-panel USB host interface are standard. Downloadable EasyWave arbitrary waveform editing software is included with each instrument. Generator dimensions are 229mm x 105mm x 281mm.

The SFG205 5-MHz generator costs $365. The SFG210 10-MHz generator sells for $446. Both instruments are available through distributor Mouser Electronics.
