ST shrinks Grade-0 analog ICs to half for auto ECU

STMicroelectronics' AEC-Q100 Grade-0 op amps and comparators are now available in the MiniSO8 package.

The LM2904WHYST dual op amp and LM2903WHYST dual comparator, now available in 4.9mm x 3mm MiniSO8 packages, are qualified for operation from -40°C to 150°C. The new package represents a size advantage of being 50% smaller footprint than Grade-0 parts in standard SO8.

The wide ambient operating temperature range of these ICs ensures robust and resilient performance in systems that are exposed to harsh conditions. These include under-the-hood electronics, such as engine controllers, in-gearbox modules, LED-lighting controllers, and safety-critical systems, such as ABS controllers that must provide absolute dependability.

The parts can be individually tested up to 150°C as part of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) tests. The company claims the LM2903 and LM2904 devices deliver benchmark performance compared to familiar metrics including input bias current, input offset voltage, current consumption and supply-voltage range.

The LM2904WHYST and LM2903WHYST are in production, priced from $0.76 for orders of 1,000 pieces.
