Wireless power reference kit supports sub-3W charging

Geared for applications ranging from 0.5W to 3W, the transmitter and receiver from IDT support three different coil size options for various applications, form factors and power levels.

IDT has released a reference kit intended for designing wireless charging into smartwatches, fitness monitors and other wearables. The wireless power reference kit includes a Qi-based transmitter and receiver for designs necessitating 3W or less.

Geared for applications ranging from 0.5W to 3W, the transmitter (P9235A-R) and receiver (P9027LP-R), support three different coil size options for various applications, form factors and power levels.

Reference design materials include user manuals, layout guides, layout instantiation modules, schematics, bill-of-materials (BOM) and Gerber files. Delivering peak 80% system efficiency at 3W, the kit offers seamless integration with the drop-in reference layout provided, and an optimised thermal design, indicated the company.

The wireless power kit containing the transmitter, receiver and additional coils is available for $70.
